  BEHIND THE WHEEL
This month our intrepid ‘driver’ Noel St John-Wood is with your Editor Myra Doyle and her sporty blue Honda Civic RS
I can’t think of a colour more suited for Myra than her Super Snazzy Honda Civic RS’s ‘Brilliant Sporty Blue Metallic’ hue.
One of many cars that have been purchased by Roadrunner Club members over the years from the Madill Motor Group, this Honda was a “love at first sight” for Myra when she visited the Noosaville showroom in 2017 to look at the newly arrived Honda.
Since then, Myra has been zipping around in her 1.5 ltr Turbo fuel saver with a factory fitted 12 speaker/ Subwoofer sound system that satisfies Myra’s taste for quality stereo sound – instilled from her time as a popular disc jockey on local radio.
The Honda achieves a consistent and enviable 6 litres per 100 klms while using nothing else but Premium ’98 Octane fuel which is great to see and a credit to Myra as the benefits of using the ‘right’ fuel are plenty.
The constant variable transmission (CVT) is well suited to the smaller ltr engine with plenty of acceleration when needed from the Turbo Charger and dual outlet exhaust. Rally-proven suspension keeps the car on track when cornering hard but still maintains a softness for casual driving. The body is racing bred attractive with side skirts, boot lid spoiler etc.
While many club members enjoy the old classics with real aged character and sometimes cantankerous demeanour there are many who enjoy their modern day sportsters – Myra is one of those and she has a contagious enthusiasm for motoring.
    Cheers Noel SJW
