         CONGRATULATIONS SIR LEWIS HAMILTON
Sir Lewis Hamilton officially received his knighthood from the Prince of Wales at Windsor Castle on 15th December 2021.
The 36-year-old was awarded his knighthood and the resulting title in the 2021 New Year Honours list after matching Michael Schumacher with his seventh F1 World Championship.
Hamilton missed out on a record eighth title this season after a nail-biting conclusion to the F1 season in Abu Dhabi. Max Verstappen took the title for the first time. But Hamilton will be back to try and break the record in 2022 alongside new team mate George Russell.
Hamilton was first awarded an MBE by the Queen following his maiden world title win in 2008.
Hamilton is the third British F1 World Champion to receive a knighthood after Sir Jack Brabham (1978) and Sir Jackie Stewart (2001), while Stirling Moss, Patrick Head and Frank Williams have also received knighthoods in recognition of their services to motorsport.
