St. Louis did not go as planned for the #55 of Vince Friese. After a season best 11th place finish just a week before in Indianapolis, the Motoconcepts rider was looking for his first top ten of the season. Friese could not manage to get a qualifying spot in his heat race but made it easy on himself in his semi as he got the hole shot and rode
smart for a 3rd place finish. Vince looked to have his best finish of the season going for himself as he was running inside the top 10 early on the main. With lap times dropping drastically at the midway point the #55 dropped like a fly to 17th position. Hopefully it was just arm pump that Vince struggled with the second half of the race and can make a comeback at Foxborough.
