CHAD REED
The oldest rider in the paddock and the lone factory Yamaha rider will make his 200th career Supercross main event start if everything goes to plan on Saturday night in St. Louis. He has the all-time record held by Mike Larocco set in his sights before his career is over and has committed to trying to iron out a Supercross only
contract with his current team for the next two seasons. He has decided to opt out of the AMA outdoor series this year and has committed to racing a couple of GP’s instead. This will be a return to Reed’s roots considering he cut his teeth in the GP’s as
a fresh faced 18 year old that left his home of Australia with nothing more than a dream. Almost twenty years later, Reed is still battling bar to bar with the best riders in the world and challenging for Supercross podiums. Nonetheless, he’s aboard the same bike that gave him so much success all those years ago. Although this year has been an up and down season for the Australian veteran, he has made the most of the opportunity and put his factory Yamaha on the podium a couple of times, even finishing runner-up to Ryan Dungey in two races at the beginning of the season. Reed will need to get back to the early season form he showed if he hopes to challenge for the victory and grab his first win of 2016 in St. Louis.
