The two were following the fast line through a rhythm section that lead into cutting the next turn tight by the tuff-blocks. As the rhythm came into the turn, Peick ran it in on Stewart, using the #7
machine as a brake before continuing on his way. Left in the wake was James on the ground, and sight of an easy night fading away in the distance. Stewart did get up, though, but with only enough energy to finish 20th in the heat before calling it a night. The Stewart camp, having dealt with so many different injuries this season, has new issues that arose from the incident. James seemed to grabbing at his back while laying awkwardly on the track but in any circumstance, 2016 continues to be problematic as JS7 searches for answers. Hopefully a fresh start in a brand new stadium like the crew will tackle next weekend in Foxborough is just what the doctor ordered. James is sure hoping so—and so are we—as Stewart still seems to have the speed to tussle with the top of the class but can’t stay off the ground.
