Trey Canard was the man on fire in St Louis. With a 2nd place qualifying position, and holding down a 53.9 second lap time, Canard was ready to put up a fight in the heat race. Unfortunately, a good reaction time on the line wasn’t in his books. On the first lap he was in 6th place, but moving through the pack very quickly.
