So, you’ll definitely be back for the second Springfield Mile? Yeah, I’ll be back in the fall and I might do the Sturgis Mile or something. There’s a couple others that I might possibly do. Until I rode this thing I didn’t re- ally know how good I would feel on it -- so now that I’ve ridden it and feel really comfortable on it, it kind of opens the door.
How’s six consecutive decades lookin’ at this point? It’s definitely doable. When I made the nation- al in 2014 at Calistoga, that set the record at that point for the oldest guy to qualify for a main event at 53 years and 11 months, and also that I made a national in five different decades. At that time, I thought I’ll never make six decades ‘cause that’s six or seven years away. Now that I’ve made two nationals and 2020 is only a couple years away, I think I can make it six decades if I can keep myself in shape. I don’t know what kind of record that really is; it doesn’t even seem possible to imagine it. It seems like to do that you’d have to be 110, but the fact is in 2020 I’ll only be 59. I’m sure there are other guys out there that could do it -- I think Scotty Parker could come out and ride a little bit and make the main, I think Rich King could do it. There’s definitely things that make dirt track con- ducive to it, but nobody’s done it except for me.
