THE MOTOPLAYGROUND RACE
at Ponca City
come. Weber, a savvy rider in his own right, would take advantage
of Jones getting around. Instead
of worrying about what was done wrong once the pass happened, he actually would follow Jones’ every move, taking notes and jotting down what would need to be changed in order to make a greater run in the second moto. Weber, would finish out the moto in third place, a ride satisfactory to all of those around him. The field would dart out of the hole for the next round, searching for traction as their rear end would absolutely light up the pad behind the gate. A little squeamish with the tread of the back tire, he would hook up and become a solid contender amidst lap one. It was he and Cole Jones, trailing Luke Fineis who
was out front. The three began to branch away, only to have Jones falling off the pace around lap three. Meanwhile, Cameron Campbell would hop all in the crew but Jones, leaving Weber to remain in third. He would hound Campbell for second from there on out, never wavering from the fume of his exhaust. His amount of heart and true amount
of courage would be apparent, as he would reel Campbell in, to a mere half second gap by the time the black and white flag would fly. Revving the 450 to the moon, his frustration would be combated
with accomplishment, as an ultra solid ride would grace the record books forever. A three-three finish would be strong enough for second overall, and something that Weber could most definitely build off for the months to come. With a solid train- ing regimen, and positive tenden- cies, there’s no telling where Weber can go when placed in the right surroundings.
