“Double M” came into this race
with two mounted pistols, ready to take his Oklahoma Cowboy roots, and hold everyone in the class at ransom. His ammunition would be loaded when he took the walk to the line, and you could almost sense
a pair of spurs on the tail end of
his riding boots. He would mount the Cobra machine, and look to his mechanic for one final time, ready
to be set into the wild and emerge
a front-runner. Starting off the first moto in second position, it was he and Colt Martin duking it out for the first portion of this sector. Martin, a sensational rider in his own right, would take reign of the field and
set the fastest lap time; but Moore would follow suit, throwing down
his quickest lap, and look willing
to compete. He would monitor the fellow number forty-seven Cobra
of Martin, and take mental note
of where he could improve in the upcoming moto. He would crest the finish line pleased with his finish, but never satisfied, as he always wants to be in the number one spot. For the second round of motos, Mason Moore wouldn’t do any playing around. He would be just behind
the machine of Colt Martin at first, but his complacency meter was at an absolute zero, and he forced his way around and into the lead. The young man would then keep climb- ing, setting the fastest lap of the moto, with an incredible one minute, thirty-two second ride! How could
he be doing it? With absolute focus, and cat like reflexes that’s what.
He would continue to stretch the lead over Martin and the rest of the field, seemingly being in no man’s land. It was as though he was on
