THE MOTOPLAYGROUND RACE
at Ponca City
MotoPlayground Race at the Ponca City national. He would start off the showing with a phenomenal hole- shot and lead, and raise the bar another notch on lap two. Where many would try to get accustomed to the track, taking a few laps to get their groove; he was truly full throttle from the get-go, throwing down the fastest lap of the moto on lap two. It was Mason Moore who was behind, and he knew, that he must be able to pursue the flag, otherwise, a competitor like Moore could reach up and grab the win from beneath his feet. He would continue to throw down laptimes, just a second or so off of the pole time of the circuit. Martin had come to play, and there was truly no stopping him from put- ting his best foot forward. Colt would try his best to take another victory in the second moto, and man oh man did he come out of the gate like a rocket. However, it was familiar foe, Mason Moore, hot on his tail, and the two would put on an exceptional showing for the fans. Losing a posi- tion on lap two, he wouldn’t ever be discouraged, and would continue
to keep the throttle pinned until the absolute bitter end. It was an all out war between the two competitors, with Martin still hanging on strong
to second, for lap three and four. And when the checkered flag came out, it was just his family and friends waiting for him, looking to grasp him with open arms. He deserved every bit of praise, and with a second overall, could go home a happy camper. This race was just one of many on his quest to professional- ism, and he would use it as a step stone in his story to success.
