JORDANJARVIS Loretta Lynn Amateur National Motocross Champion
Jordan Jarvis has been one of the standout performers at the Loretta Lynn Amateur National Motocross Championship in both the Girls and Wom-
ens classes since her first overall podium at the Ranch in 2012. The North Carolina native has had many successful years of racing in Hurricane Mills, Tennessee, but nothing compares to the dominance that she displayed at the 37th annual running of the Loretta Lynn Amateur National Motocross Championship. Jarvis was eager to get back to winning ways at the Ranch after missing out on a number one plate in both the Girls (11-16) class as well as the Women (12+) class last year, providing her with extra motiva- tion to do well at the drop of the gate. Although Jarvis aged out of the Girls (11-16) class, she was set to take on a new challenge this year, competing on Saturday in the WMX class for the first time at Loretta Lynn’s. Firstly, the Yamaha rider had to tackle the challenge of the Women (12+) class as her main focus before moving onto WMX. In the first two motos, she faced some stiff competition from Jazzmyn Canfield throughout the opening laps of the race. Her fellow Yamaha pilot was rocketing out of the gate, placing herself in the lead for the opening portion of the race. Jarvis showed patience and resolve as she stalked her prey, waiting for the opportune moment to strike and overtake the lead. It only took two laps in each moto and the North Car- olina native had secured a clear track ahead of her, allowing a massive gap to be opened up from the front of the pack. Jarvis’ confidence was soaring after the pair of wins in the first two motos, allowing her to pull the holeshot and check out in the third moto completely uncontested. It was an utterly dominant performance from the bLU cRU rider as she set the fastest lap
in all three motos on the way to the Women (12+) title, but she couldn’t get complacent heading into the two WMX motos on Saturday afternoon. It was the same story in the WMX class as Jarvis extended her lead as the current points leader, taking both moto victories in commanding style in order to cap off an unforgettable week of racing at the Loretta Lynn Dude Ranch.
