IX ROUNDS DOWN...
Geico Honda’s Jeremy Martin showed the same speed that he has throughout the entire season, pushing through moderate traffic in the first moto in order to bag a second place behind his main championship rival. In the second moto, J Mart was poised for the win after taking control of the race from the very beginning, but an unlucky mechanical failure forced him to the sidelines with his head in his hands as he watched the overall victory slip away into the hands of Plessinger. Although the racing has changed coasts, time zones, and terrain compositions -- the 450 class was still the same song and dance as it has been all year. Marvin Musquin put up an impressive challenge to the overall winning streak of Eli Tomac, taking the victory ahead of the Monster Energy Kawasaki rider in the open- ing moto after chasing him down and passing him. It seemed that Tomac had finally met his match, but Musquin’s efforts came up just short as the two of them competed in a hotly contested battle in the second moto of the day, slightly losing out to the Colorado native in both the race and the overall.
