Andrew started his day off in the Georgia dome just like any other Saturday. Andrew was solid in practice and qualified 15th. When the racing started, he got an awesome jump off the line in 450 Heat 2. He rounded the first corner in top 5 position, as he was banging bars with the rest of the field going into the first rhythm section. The riders started funneling through the first timing sec- tion and Short collided mid air with Nicoletti off the first tabletop. When they landed, much to close to each other and sideways, Andrew was shot back into the air with- out his bike. Wil Hahn’s ma- chine came flipping on top of Short and he was pinned under the bike for far too long. He would be carried off the track to ride out of the stadium on the Asterisk Medical cart. His night was over. Hopefully Andrew is not seriously injured and he can finish out his season strong.
