Phil Nicoletti has earned the nickname “Fill in Phil” over the last few years because of his almost annual fill-in rides for JGR Yamaha. Whenever a full time JGR rider gets hurt
they immediately give Nicoletti a call and a factory Yamaha to race. Nicoletti has earned his “full time” fill-in spot with JGR because he has raw speed and gets good finshes. He is more than capable of putting the JGR bike into the top 10 and he has even cracked the top 5 at some races over the years. He is everything one looks for in a fill in rider because he frequently gets great holeshots, gets solid finishes, and gets camera time for the sponsors because he always right in the thick of intense battles. There is not much more you can ask for in a fill-in rider and he will look to continue his good performances this weekend in Atlanta.
