With adrenaline running through the veins, heart rates increasing, and the roar of Falcon
faithful all around, Stewart’s second chance for the 2016 season was finally upon him.
As the gate fell for heat one, Stewart found himself in fourth flying by the green flag. Following the finish line, Stewart proceeded to triple past both Tomac and Alessi in a two-for-one deal, advancing him to second and trailing Justin Brayton. With a stable second seeming near, a large gasp overtook the stadium. James had fell in the corner following the dragon’s back, causing Canard to tip as well. With sand spraying similar to a Middle Eastern desert storm, James brushed the shoulders off and mustered a mediocre 13th finish; to the semi’s he went.
Talk about a stacked semi (#2), goodness gracious. Millsaps, Bogle, Canard, Stewart, the list goes on; James found himself in fifth across the holeshot sensor, but quickly worked his way to Canard’s trail, and third place. James would show a sense of maturity remaining third for the entire duration, gaining a little bit of seat time and advancing to the main event.
