After a rough heat, Anthony Rodriguez found himself where no rider wants to be – the LCQ. Rodriguez starts off the race strongly and immediately finds himself fighting with the crowd-favorite -- rookie Benny Bloss -- while he tried to catch up to Albertson in front of
him. While it seemed at first his experience would help him fend Bloss off, Bloss slipped around Rodriguez with only two laps to go. Before the final wave of the flag, Rodriguez would drop to fourth still maintained the crucial transfer position.
Rodriguez wouldn’t quite dig up the results he was hoping for in the main event. Juggling lower positions from eighteenth to twentieth throughout the race is not what he was vying for. He would find himself as far back as twentieth place but would dig deep in the final laps and charge up to seventeenth before the finish flag sealed the evening’s race. Rodriguez may be disappointed but he is not defeated – he will be bringing the fire in the weeks to come.
