Albertson Enterprises teamed up with Motorcycle Superstore, Seven MX, and Suzuki to run a full 250 program for the 2016 season where Jimmy would race 250 East SX. This was a bit of a surprise move for a rider of Jimmy’s experience; very rarely does a rider drop back down to
the regional series after finding success in the 450 class. Unfortunately, the off season didn’t go as planned and the team has struggled to stay healthy. Albertson came into the season banged up and his misfortune has continued after suffering a nasty practice crash in Toronto in the first whoops section. He cartwheeled over the bars and snapped his sternum. The aforementioned determination carried him through the night and he managed to qualify for the main event, but he’ll be sitting out Detroit in order to heal up in hopes of racing Santa Clara.
