The long treacherous whoop section was the deciding factor all night in Detroit’s Ford Field Stadium. Running along side the entire length of the stadium was nine- teen whoops that claimed many victims throughout the night. Cole Seely’s night was looking great as he grabbed a top five start in the main event. A mistake at the end of the whoop section on the very first lap caused Seely’s feet to come off the pegs and he was unable to hit the back brake. This sent the number 14 through the tough blocks and over the berm. Re-entering the track in last place, Cole put on a hard charge and worked all the way back to 11th overall.
