>> The number 88 machine started out the evening in MetLife Sta- dium very strong. John Short found himself lined up for the first heat race of the night and with only one round left, he was ready to prove himself. He did just that after an awesome eighth place finish in the heat. John Short definitely did not come up short as he was headed straight to the prestigious Main Event. With anxious energy running through all of the riders and a rough track with ruts being dug deeper and longer with every passing second, the crowd in New Jersey had to have been on the edge of their seats at the 250 East Coasters
lined up for the exciting Main Event. The Pilot Point, Texan took off the start and was sitting in twentieth place on lap one. Short was able to redeem a couple of positions and found himself the eighteenth place spot for a solid chunk of the middle of the moto. Unfortunately after that, the TPJ/Fly Racing/Jones Powersports rider started falling back a few places and soon found himself in the twenty-second position behind the 740 machine Lane Staley. John Short put in a fantastic heat race by putting his Suzuki in a comfortable transfer spot, but he was not able to bring the same kind of fire to a very brutal Main Event. The track proved to be the number one challenge in East Rutherford, New Jersey and only the strongest prevailed. A challenging track is necessary at this point in the series and truly shows who has the grit to find the results they’ve been searching for all season before the final round.
