>> Mitchell Harrison has been working hard throughout his 2017 Super- cross season. Fighting some tough battles against some fierce competition. His best finish of the season has been a sixth place and he is sitting 10th in points heading into the final round of the season. The Star Racing Yamaha rider began his day in New Jersey qualifying 11th for the long night of racing. With solid lap times in qualifying, Harrison knew he had what it took to get
into the main event like he has been all year. He got a good jump out of the gate for his heat race putting himself right into 3rd place. Jordan Smith was able to get around him half way into the race sending him back to 4th. Riding hard, Harrison was working to get his spot back but lost another to the points leader Joey Savatgy before the checkered flag could be waved. Moving onto the main event with a fifth place in his heat race, Harrison was looking strong and confident heading into the race. The Michigan native launched out of the gate for the main event and into the first turn sitting right around 9th place. With the chaos happening around him he fell back to 11th place by the second lap. Then making another mistake he found himself sitting even further back
in 16th by lap three. Trying to not lose anymore positions the Star Racing rider found his comfort zone and started working his way back through the crowd. Making his way back up to 14th on the very next lap his race was starting to turn around. Getting closer to the riders in front of him he maintained con- sistency and was able to make another pass on Tucker for 13th place. The clock had run out and before he knew Harrison was over the finish with a 13th overall for the night. It was not what he was hoping for as they head into the final round of the 2017 season, but with one race left he still has a chance to beat his career best for 2017.
