LANDON PALMER – 51CC (4-6 SHAFT DRIVE LIMITED)
KILPATRICK
Beware, when listening for this
class on the track, you may not hear much. However, if by chance your eyes catch a blue blur blitzing by, then you have found the shaft drive limited class; and in this instance, the fastest of them all, Mr. Landon Palmer. The number 85 began the week with a seventh place start, knowing he had work to do in order to secure victory. He was dodging down riders, and leaping past those who were upright, never ever letting off the gas. Pushing to the forefront of the field he actually took over
the lead near the halfway point, but a mistake on lap four would cost
him big time. No sweat, however,
as he had a big enough cushion, that he could remount, post the fastest lap of the race, and still
come within reach of a win, finishing second. It was time to duplicate that performance in the second moto, but a ninth place start would be detrimental to his title hopes. He would turn it around, continuing to climb with each passing moment.
As Ryder Bloomquist was out front taking the win, he was fighting hard throughout the pack, soaking up every breaking bump possible; his efforts would be rewarded for fourth. It was all or nothing for the third go around, and his riding style sure reflected that mindset. Second on lap one, he quickly pushed into the lead, passing Weston Crumley in the process. He had strictly tunnel vision, hitting ridiculous speeds down the straightaways, and soaring into the air through the finish line section. Styling with speed, the fans were cheering him on lap after lap, and he knew the checkered flag was just around the corner. He would hold on, taking the win, and better yet, all of the championship trophies! With all of these prizes and awards, he was beyond excited, and very well should be. Congratulations, and keep up the hard work!
