Throughout the past decade, if you’ve been in attendance at Loretta Lynn’s, you’ve heard the name John Grewe echoed over the P.A. system. The man is a staple at the ranch, and seems to replicate fine wine, getting better with age, and each passing year he’s able to compete aboard the motorcycle. 2017 was no different, as the first moto saw him project into an initial sprint, pulling away from his long- time rival of Barry Carsten. Although not as flashy as many of the younger competitors here at the ranch, his laptimes were still very im- pressive; no whipping, scrubbing, or charismatic flare, just a textbook foundation was all that was needed, as he continued to pull through- out the remainder of the moto. He would go onto to claim his gold medal, respectively. The second meeting of the trilogy, again saw the Kawasaki take the initial green flag with his head held high. He seemed to be charging just a tad bit more into every corner, especially into the left in the opening woods section; it didn’t matter if he was launching the inside single, or railing the outside, no matter the option, he
