HANNAH HODGES WOMEN (12+) AMATEUR
KILPATRICK
Talk about a row of assas-
sin’s, the women’s division was stacked to the brim with talent this year. Hodges, Canfield, Allred, Jarvis, the list could continue for quite sometime; so whomever won this champion- ship, should and will be well respected for quite some time. Hannah Hodges was the first to step up, taking an early lead and setting a laptime faster than any- one else. Her experience and expertise excelled on this type
of landscape. With her fellow Floridian all over her tail, Hodges held strong as both her and Can- field blitzed away from the back. There was nothing lackluster about this performance; she had blazing speed, and courageous will, pushing strong to the line. She would take the gold medal. For moto number two, Hodges would again bolt to an early
lead, yet be overtaken by Jordan Jarvis in the early going. Jarvis would sprint, and Hodges would follow suit, but lose a tad bit each and every lap, amounting to about a 14 second gap by the end of the race. She knew what had to be done to complete her quest for a championship. This was it, time for it all to be settled for 2017. Hodges again had
an early lead, and would keep Jarvis at bay, not wavering to
the pressure from the number 30. She would hold reign until lap seven, when a sneaky move by Jarvis would push her to the forefront. Never wanting to lose an individual moto, Hodges continued to push, overjumping the finish line section to try and get the win back. Upset about the moto performance, she had nothing to be down about; as she had just secured the title of champion for this division. Spon- sors, family, and friends alike were all there to congratulate her. She’d done it, and as a true champion, immediately wanted more.
