KADE JOHNSON 65CC (7-9) LIMITED
KILPATRICK
The transition to the 65cc machine, is one of the most difficult to over- come in a rider’s lifespan aboard
the motorcycle. Most of the time, they are switching from automatic operation, to a manual powerhouse, and the new task, at times, can be overwhelming. If you can adapt to this change, then you have a bright future ahead; and Kade Johnson
has not only done just that, but he’s embraced the horsepower, equat-
ing to wins of all kinds. To begin the week at Loretta’s, Johnson’s start was less than stellar, but his laptimes were making up for it. Throwing down the quickest segment of the moto, coming through traffic I might add, a 2:31 was going to propel him to the front no matter what. Leading him to Drew Adams, who was taking reign of the division, but not without input from Kade. The two literally were side by side at multiple points of the last two laps; the sweat dripping
from their brow, all the while the right hand had the throttle twisted. It was a battle of attrition, and Johnson would somehow manage to sneak around. Victory was his. The second round, saw a much easier beginning to the moto, as Johnson registered in first on the opening lap, and never looked back. Adding some style over the
two huge leaps in the middle, he was taking the win, while making sure
the cameras were receiving opti- mum shots. Comfortable as can be, he took the victory with the utmost confidence. With pressure of the title amounting, Johnson had to stay calm after a ninth place opening lap in the third moto. Slowly inching his way up, Drew Adams was out front and trying to blitz the field. With his mechanic encouraging Kade every lap, he was reassured everything was staying intact. Focused solely on riding his best laps, it was paying off, hold-
ing strong in fifth. He needed to do nothing more, and when crossing the line for the final time, the announcer screaming his name, chills began
to run across his body. He’d done it, achieved the highest of honors at the ranch, and it couldn’t have gone to a more deserving rider.
