Michael Leib started off the Arlington SX with an impressive 9th fastest quali-
fying time in practice. The track was very slick in spots and it looked like Leib
had found the smooth way around as they headed into the night show.
Leib started off his heat race with an average start. He would quicky work into 8th place after the first lap and hold onto that spot for the rest of the race. It was a quiet heat race for Leib as he didn’t really move forward or backward but he earned a spot to the main event and that is all that matters.
Leib got another average start in the main event and mixed it up inside the top 10 early in the race. He was putting in a strong ride and was fighting hard to stay up in the top 10. He had battles with Peters and Alldredge throughout the duration of the race and looked to have 10th place wrapped up. That is until late in the race Joey Savatgy came charging after a nasty crash and would end up sneaking by him for 10th. Leib has to be bummed he couldn’t notch a top 10 before the break but just missing out could be the extra motivation he needs to come back strong and ready to contend.
