Chad Reed has never been known as a rider who throws down one blistering fast lap in practice. Typi- cally starting the day off slow and staying quiet until the main event
rolls around. He would start Round 7 of the Monster Energy Supercross series in the same fashion, qualifying 15th overall on the day. As the gate dropped in heat two it looked as though Chad had the holeshot heading into the first turn.
