Getting pushed wide into the tough blocks, Chad was forced to “check up” and
was pushed back to 6th place. Not making any passes as the race went on, Reed was sent to the semi. Another bad start in the semi had Reed and Tomac battling through the pack to a qualifying po- sition. He finished 4th and secured a spot in the main event. Gate pick was crucial tonight with a tricky 90 degree left corner. Coming from the semi, Chad had a horrible gate pick and was placed on the outside. This resulted in a bad start as Chad came around the first turn in 18th place. On a track that was difficult to pass, Chad worked his way passed half the field and into 9th place. With only two laps to go, Chad made a late race mistake costing him three positions, ending the night 12th overall.
