KILPATRICK
SETH HAMMAKER
With turmoil looming from the earlier rumors of Gatorback’s misfortune, so many in attendance were relieved to have a familiar setting to prove their worth. Now, riders in the 250 B division can hold themselves accountable, in com- parison to the dominant champions that have stomped these grounds before them. Stewart, Wilson, Tomac, you name them, and they’ve had success here, which would eventually help glisten their resume enough to catch the eye
of team owner’s. All guns would be blazing
with the amount of grit this particular bracket
or riders possessed, and as they marched into the first turn, everyone was vying for that highly coveted title. Popping through the air like a fresh bowl of Redenbacher’s, the crowd was captivated by the amount of battling early on. The pace set early on in heat one, was lead by none other than Utah’s Pierce Brown. Darting out of the hole, cutting everyone one off to hug the inside barrel. He would nearly clip the ban- ner, pushing forward and building the smallest of gaps, over Florida’s Jalek Swoll. Swoll, had
a bit of a gap on Stilez Robertson, the young- gun who’d just graduated to big bikes in recent memory. The order would stay this way to the finish. The second heat, would be led early
on by Seth Hammaker; a young man who’s captivated the amateur industry, lurking in the shadows up until recent memory. It was shown again in his riding style, as he stayed true to his technique, not drawing too much attention, but getting the job done with pure speed and less flash. It paid off with a win, as another piece of the “Team Green Tandem”, California’s Dillan Schwartz, would joust with Devon Simonson,
to claim second and third. And then it was time to settle the dual, all parties coming together to light the wick the final explosion. The gate falls, they dart into the right, straightaway then left. Over the series of scrubbing doubles, Ham- maker throws “Hay-Makers.” He isn’t settling
for the soft jab, to loosen up the opponent; he’s going straight for the jugular. Lap after lap, he continues to lead out front, letting the 250f slip meticulously across the cutting edge limestone. Robertson is on his heels at first, yet the lack of experience seems to be raring its head. Ham- maker continues to pull little by little, setting the fastest lap on the fourth circuit. He never sees a glimpse of any machine, as he goes on to cross the finish line, thumping his chest with integrity. Robertson, stoked for his ride, claims second, while Mason Gonzales brings home the tail end of the podium with a solid ride.
