KILPATRICK
Drake on lap two. Using his rear wheel to finagle his way around these ultra slick bowl turns, Falk felt at home on this surface, due to the similarities it had with his native California dirt. Lap after lap, he continued to press on, resulting in a hard fought win, over Carter Halpain who’d moved into second place. The fireworks were lining up nicely for the main event. Mitchell Falk seemed to have Carter Halpain’s number in this particular class, as Halpain yet again was the main staple of competition disrupting Falk’s championship run. Halpain, who would lead for four laps, did all he possibly could to hold the number 612 of Falk at bay. Whether it was by changing lines, arcing his turns, or actually trying to double and triple through the roller section, nothing seemed to be working in his back of tricks. Falk, reading the message of his pit board each lap, knew that he could break Halpain with enough force, and will to win. A valiant effort from Carter ensued, but it was to no avail, as Falk pushed his way forward, blocking Halpain from ever regaining the lead. With Marchbanks third, it all finally seemed to come together for Falk, as mistakes had robbed him of numerous wins this week. All he had to do was light the wick, waiting for his explosion onto the championship scene. He could sleep well, knowing that he finally solved the riddle, in which was the 2017 250 Mini O’s 450 A championship.
