For the second division, it was Oklahoma’s Jesse Flock, carrying the flag proud for the boys in blue. The Yamaha pilot was riding the 450 as it should, letting the en- gine purr off the bottom, and snapping aggres- sively with controlled “blips” at the top of each face. He’d done this before, and was begin- ning to feel at home out front. He would go onto take the win, with Mason Gonzales, and Grant Harlan trailing him at the finish. For the final run- off, it was time to simply put up or shut up. Brown and Hammaker, all too familiar foes, found each other first, pushing the pace of the field with ab- surd force. Steamrolling some of these rollers, the plush suspension never batting an eye. Brown, stalked Ham- maker, so much so that the number 510 would actually hiccup! And at this stage of the came, any lapse of focus is costly, and he would subsequently cough up the lead to brown with just a few short laps to go. It was all the number one seed needed, as he would tap the 450 out, all the way down the fin- ish line straightway, flick- ing the front end right, his left hand pumping. It was time to sign in fine print, as he was officially the champion in this ul- tra competitive division, with Pennsylvania’s Hammaker disgusted, taking the runner-up position.
