JORDON SMITH
Jordon Smith has endured a very up and down 2016 outdoor season. He kicked off the year with a career best second place moto finish at the season opener and has flirted with the podium on a number of occasions since then. The problem is, he has been on the ground and fighting from behind just as many times. Smith is a very quick starter and is usually up near the front to begin races. That starting ability has helped him secure many top five finishes this year but his main issue is being able to replicate
them in back to back motos. He will finish in the top five one moto and struggle in the next and finish outside the top ten. When he has been able to put together a complete day, he finished a career best fourth overall a few weeks ago at Muddy Creek. His speed is not in question making consistency the only part of his game left un-mastered. Unfortunately, in this week leading
up to Southwick, Smith went down hard and practiced and messed his shoulder up pretty bad. The injury will force him to sit out Southwick and we hope we see him back out there sooner rather than later.
