AUSTIN FORKNER
The young rookie stunned us all when he finished on the podium in just his third pro moto at Glen Helen earlier this year. He has yet to find his way back to the podium but it is definitely not because of lack of effort. Austin lights up the track every time he is out there and it’s only a matter of time before he becomes a more familiar face on the podium. Forkner is now carrying a bizarre streak
where he takes his best finish of the weekend in the opposite moto than the Saturday before. This started in the very first moto of his career where he achieved a 13th and followed it up with an impressive 7th. The next weekend of course he shined in the first moto where he took 3rd but then a 5th in the second moto. Then, at Thunder Valley, he took a 17th in the first moto and bounced back with a 4th in moto two. Last weekend, he finished his best in the first moto so if this odd chain of events continues, we should see Austin challenging the front runners in the second moto this weekend at Southwick. Hopefully, he will be able to break the streak and score consistent top finishes in both motos. Look for the rookie to continue his steady improvement and be challenging for wins soon.
