RJ HAMPSHIRE
RJ, like many of these middlesomethings that fill out the pack between the top ten and the local riders that show up on a given weekend, is looking for a breakthrough. We can see this in the likes of Renzland, Oldenburg, Harrison. These kids that separate themselves from the back half of the field but in turn are separated, find themselves in dire positions. Trying to make huge gains at this level of the sport is not only dangerous, but it can be downright demoralizing. You’ve already committed so much (at this point the majority) of your life to be faster than the riders in your class. You do that, you get noticed by sponsors and teams and find yourself suddenly in a world of higher standards. This isn’t the ranch, this isn’t a sick riding edit at MTF, this is pro motocross and if you want to be in the top ten, top five, on the podium, you’re gonna need something much deeper than a good amateur career. You need to be willing to redefine your limits, and discover even more speed, commitment, and confidence. RJ and many
others are searching for this edge and trying to bridge the gap.
