GIVE US SOME BACKGROUND INFORMATION ON YOURSELF AND HOW FIRST GOT YOU STARTED IN THIS THIS SPORT.
I’ve raced motocross from the time I was 4 until my 25th birthday. When I decided I’d had enough, I was a current factory rider employed by Yamaha Motor corp. Making a very good living, but was burnt out and tired of the traveling. I had spent my whole career as a front runner but after an injury at Glen Helen in 05’ my speed and confidence never returned. So I retired 1 year later on October 15, 2006.

WHAT MADE YOU WANT TO PASS ON YOUR KNOWLEDGE TO OTHER RIDERS?
After my retirement I wasn’t sure what I really wanted to do. For the first time in my life I was free. Free from the commitment of training, and discipline, that being an elite professional rider required. I remember taking my family to Disney right after the season ended, And I couldn’t even keep up. I hurt all over, my body had just taken a toll over the years. So I just wanted to relax for awhile and enjoy myself, but that didn’t last. I got bored real quick and needed something to do. So I looked into some trades, But
everything that I was interested in, you had to go to college for and needed this degree and that degree. Eventually I said to myself “Damn I have a doctorate in Moto” so I’m going to do that! So then I started doing schools in 2007, Matt Walker School of MotoX.
WITH MANY DIFFERENT OPTIONS ON WHERE TO START YOUR FACILITY, WHY DID YOU CHOOSE TO HAVE YOUR FACILITY AT IT’S CURRENT LOCATION?
It didn’t take long to realize I was losing business with not having my own training
