No need to put on your spectacles if you were looking at the 450 LCQ lineup, you weren’t seeing double. Both Wil and Tommy Hahn had the first two positions atop the starting grid, an intriguing statistic, but one they’d rather re- place. Flirting with disaster, Wil was fourth working through the first few sections. With a pre-race goal of just making it to the main, Hahn precisely maneuvered
past Deven Raper and Nick Schmidt to narrowly claim the win and advance.
With a less than superb gate position, Wil Hahn surprisingly found himself in eleventh down the first stretch of Texas track. Falling to 18th on lap three, Hahn was trying his best to regain composure and make sense of the chaos around him; a mistake then cost the Kawasaki rider a few positions by lap five, declin-
ing to 22nd. Scrapping his way through the field, the Kansas native would propel to 14th by race end, a very respectable ending to what he had endured in the laps prior.
