Chris’ California day did not start off any better than his season thus far. Early in the first round
of practice, Alldredge found himself limping off the track after a very hard crash in the whoops.
He didn’t let the crash detour him and he got back on the bike and pushed through to put in a top 10 time. Chris came back out and was able to qualify 13th after the tough crash. He would have his wok cut out for him in the night show. Chris put his head down and when the gate dropped for 250 Heat 2, he shot out into a near holeshot, next to teammate Savatgy. Alldredge lost a position early to Craig but was able to hang on to 3rd and learn some lines. With 3 to go, Chris lost one more position to a feisty Jimmy Decotis but would still qualify 4th for the Main. He wanted to finish off the night healthy after a nasty crash in practice and it was evident that was on his mind. When the Main Event gate dropped in Santa Clara, Chris had a slight delay in his reaction time which in turn, lead to a very poor start. The young rider was now running 15th on lap 2 and it did not look like this would be a very good night for the #35. Chris stayed in this position for most of the race. With 5 laps to go he had moved into 14th, but was ready for the night to be over. He would salvage a 14th after a long day in Santa Clara. Fortunately, Alldredge can use the next few weeks to get back to race health and be ready for Vegas.
