Phil Nicoletti has an amazing deal with JGR Yamaha. Being able to make a living in Moto- cross and Supercross is very hard these days and many riders take whatever they can get. A factory ride is always the goal and Nicoletti has managed to ink a deal with this presti-
gious team. Unfortunately, Phil’s deal does have its pros and cons. The pros? He gets the chance to ride a factory bike in American Supercross. The cons? He can only ride when another member of the team is injured. Fortunately for Fill-in Phil, the JGR riders have been plagued with injury or disqualification this season and he has been able to ride the majority of the races. Phil’s catch 22 lifestyle has now come to the less favorable situation where finally, both JGR riders will line
up this weekend in California which leaves Phil on the sidelines. It isn’t as bad as it seems because he does have other responsibilities with the team. He will stay fit and continue to do outdoor testing for the team. Although, if anything happens
to the other riders Filthy Phil will be on the bench ready to go in for Coach Gibbs.
