FREDRIK NOREN
2016 marks Fredrik Noren’s first season aboard a 250 machine and his first full Supercross season. The swift Swede has only raced a 450 during the outdoor series, with the exception of one Supercross race in 2015, since coming to race in the United
States and was quite successful so he figured he would try his hand in the 250 class.
After stints with Factory Honda over the past two outdoor seasons, he didn’t stray too far from what he knows and signed with Team Rockwell Honda for the West series. Being on a Honda was the only familiar thing for Noren when the season began. With minimal Supercross experience, Noren would be trying to adapt to the very different tracks on the fly. And that lack of experience translated to subpar results early in the season. He was clearly struggling in the new atmosphere but took a step in the right direction in Arlington just before the break. He went out and earned himself a career best twelfth place finish. It was a great confidence booster and surely inspired him to use the long break to continue to perfect his game so he can get out and contend for top ten finishes before the season is over. Look for the Swedish rider to get some more career highs as the West series resumes in Santa Clara.
