COLE MARTINEZ
Cole Martinez has become a fixture in the 250 West Coast class over the last three years. He has
consistently been one of, if not the top privateer in the class during that span. The young rider from Arizona has been putting his bike just in and around the top ten capping off some great rides throughout his career. Great starts have certainly played their role in helping Martinez assert himself as a contender and he seems to have that art mastered. We frequently see him start up front and hold his own with the likes of Cooper Webb and Christian Craig for the opening laps. That experience is vital and just fuels him with confidence. He entered the season this year after the ride of his life at the Las Vegas 250 shootout where he earned an eighth place finish. It was the best finish of his career and looked to carry that momentum into 2016. So far Martinez has been unable to match that finish but he has grabbed a top ten and only finished outside of the top fifteen once. Don’t be surprised if you see Martinez putting in work inside the top ten after using the break to rest up and perfect his speed.
