After Geico Honda’s Christian Craig washed his front end out on lap 5, It looked as though Alex would finally return to the podium. Disaster struck on lap 9 when Alex clipped a tough block entering the “over under” bridge, causing him to hit the ground hard. An unfortunate turn of events for Martin and the team. In addition, team mate and defending champion Cooper Webb would experi- ence bike issues costing him the win and points lead. Yamalube/ Star Racing Yamaha team would finish 21st and 22nd place.
