Commans would force his way into the spotlight in Oakland in the LCQ. He would take the holeshot after bike-banging carnage in the first turn and carry the lead through the first lap, slowly pulling away from the pack. Second place rider, Auberson couldn’t quite catch up to Commans, who would go on to win the LCQ and make it to his second main event of the season.
