Brenda Parson
CANDACE AWARD NOMINEE FOR ADVOCACY IN
ECONOMIC EMPOWERMENT
Brenda Parson was born in Camden, New Jersey, raised in Monroe, NC and graduated from King’s College. After living in Georgia and Alabama for over 20 years, she transferred back to Charlotte and in 2016 founded Volunteer2ServeNGive, Inc., a 501c3 nonprofit organization. For the past 30 years Parson has worked in the Banking & Finance Industry. Currently she is employed as a Business Analyst for Bank of America.
Volunteer2ServeNGive has served approximately 10,620 people since 2016 recruited and engaged with over 252 volunteers in the community. Volunteer2ServeNGive provides assistance through the following service programs:
Sunday's Feast (feeding residents at the Men's & Women's Shelter).
Back2School Explosion (Providing students with backpacks filled with school supplies). Adopt A Classroom (Providing elementary teachers with school supplies).
Brelyn Giving Closet Initiative (A Pop Up Boutique for Women providing gently worn clothes, shoes, handbags for women that are returning back to work).
The Curlee Project (A Pop Up Grooming Suite providing makeovers for men & women).
Loads2Give Campaign (Providing veterans, government workers and homeless community with laundry products and free washes at the laundromat located at 6301 N Tryon Street, Charlotte).
Among the many nominations and awards received byVolunteer2ServeNGive are:
• 2018 & 2019-Nominated for Community Service Award from Neighborhood Exchange & Leadership.
• 2017 & 2018-Nonprofit voted as one of Charlotte's most impactful organization from Quicken Loans.
• 2016-Points of Light Award for Volunteerism & Community Engagement from President George H. W. Bush and Tracy Hoover.
• 2015-The President's Volunteer Service Award for Volunteerism received a pendant and signed letter from President Barack Obama.
• 2012-2018 Volunteer Service Award from Wells Fargo Bank for Volunteerism & Community Engagement.
Parson considers herself an avid volunteer, change maker and do-gooder whose passion is to give back by serving her community. She is married to Ty Parson and they reside in Charlotte, NC.
