For Parents Asking A Question
The fables in the Cosmos Crow Coping Skills series are designed to help all of us (children and adults) learn that much of our success and happiness in life depends on our “Self-Talk.”
If you tell yourself things that are realistic and make sense (Good Thinking) you are more likely to deal with life situations and those in it successfully.
If you tell yourself things that are not realistic and don’t make sense (Stinky Thinking ) you will deal with life situations and those in it less successfully.
Children, by the very nature of being children tend
to have a lot of “Stinky Thinking.” That is, they tell themselves things that are not true, exaggerated or not appropriate for this specific situation.
It's not a function of intelligence or parenting, it is just a fact of nature. The stories and lessons of Coping Skills are designed to help both children and adults learn the skills of ‘Good Thinking.’
