P. 7

However, one of the buzzards objected. “We are too noble a bird for such a task. We have always been the poets and singers. Other birds have always brought us our food because we are so important for the entertainment of all.”
But the birds of the Congress did not agree with the buzzards. “That was in the olden times. In this new age, no one is too noble to do what is needed to survive. It is true that others could do this task but to be honest, there are few other tasks that you could do.”
Some of the buzzards got very insulted. One stood and said,
“As leader of the Purple Headed Buzzard family, I tell you that
we are too noble for this task and we refuse to do it. We demand to be allowed to continue our life of ease and to be fed by the other birds.”
The birds of the Congress replied that they could do whatever they wanted but the rule of Congress stands: “Buzzards are the clean-up birds.”
It seemed that some of the buzzards did not want to do the job which they had been assigned because they thought themselves too noble. They were used to having it pretty nice and easy. Well, that all changed and to this day, buzzards are the clean-up birds.
