Complete the census beginning March 1, 2020
You can take the census in one of three ways
Louisiana Counts: Census 2020
Every Louisianan should stand up and be counted in the 2020 Census. The US Census is more than just a count of our population, it determines billions of dollars of federal funding for a variety of programs that support millions of Louisianans. Census data is also used to determine eligibility, compute formulas for fund allocation, rank projects, and set interest rates for a variety of federal programs, including Title 1 grants, Head Start, and tax credits. Participating in the Census is also the basis for ensuring fair political representation, and helps determine our congressional representation in Washington D.C. and provides the data used to draw district lines.
Louisiana households receivied invitations to respond to the 2020 Census. For the first time, the primary means of responding will be online. All 2020 Census response options are safe, secure, and confidential.
Henry reported that the Executive Committee met and approved the proposal raised at the last meeting to pay some compensation to Ed for his time and effort in publishing the Newswatch for the April, May, and June issues since he did not receive regular advertising revenue as he usually does. The Executive Committee decided to pay Ed a total of $950 for those three months and will consider further compensation as needed in the future
Unfinished Business
Flag Project – Henry reported that over 1,000 homes should have flags by now. The Boy Scouts should put up another 800 next Saturday, and should have the whole subdivision done by Flag Day.
Mike wished to extend the board’s wishes for a speedy recovery from surgery for SECPID Treasurer Fred Godwin and SHA Board Member Ken Buturla.
The next monthly business meeting of the Shenandoah Homeowners Association Ltd. will be on Tuesday, July 14, 2020 at 7:00 p.m. Location to be determined.
