All of the Smooth Tail snakes tried to help each other learn the things they needed to know to survive in the world, what to eat, what not to eat, where there was danger and all sorts of other things. The young snakes played well together in those days. By in large, they took turns, shared and did their best to get along well with each other.
If one of the young Smooth Tail snakes saw another one doing something it should not be doing, they would explain the danger of how it was disturbing others.
If one snake was doing something mean, another snake would talk to that snake nicely and explain why such behavior was not nice or appropriate. Sometimes, they would have to explain it several times or in different ways before the other snake would under and act nice.
Whenever there was some problem behavior by one of the young snakes, several of the other young Smooth Tail snakes would explain to them that what they were doing was not good or could cause harm.
The grown-up snakes would always explain to the young snakes that they should teach each other how to get along with each other and do the things they should do in order that they grow up to be kind and successful snakes.
