Unknown to our little mountain tree, he was becoming quite well known to the birds of valley. The birds liked that the little mountain tree always seemed glad to see them and was generous with his shade and fruit. It was his willingness to be helpful and his friendliness that seemed to impress the birds.
Now birds are very observant and smart and can tell that the valley trees were jealous of this “strange mountain tree”. The valley trees would say, “Why is he so well liked? He is not tall or large like us and he has few fruit to eat!”
What the valley trees did not understand was the fact that the birds appreciated the mountain tree for all of his good qualities and were not too worried about his size or the number of fruits he produced.
