The birds understood that the valley trees could easily share their fruit and shade because it was no trouble for them. But the little mountain tree had to work very hard for what he had to offer. The little mountain tree made an effort to be kind and generous.
He used a lot of energy to make those few extra fruit so that a passing crow or sparrow could stop and have something to eat.
The crows of valley got into the habit of having all of their important meetings in his branches. They knew that when they had their meeting in the “Little Mountain Tree,” they would always be welcome.
