Athletics and Activities
SIS provides exciting and unique experiences through athletics and activities to inspire students to push their boundaries and realize their full potential.
The SIS Athletics and Activities Program engages students in opportunities to develop physical and social skills, experience success, and extend themselves in areas outside of the classroom. Students have been involved in sports and activity exchanges from Grade 6-12 throughout the school year. With strict health protocols in place and aligned with local regulations and CDC guidelines during a global pandemic, our students successfully and safely participated in competitions for Model United Nations, Speech & Debate, Volleyball, Basketball, Soccer, and Badminton. The majority of our competitions were held at our excellent facilities: the 4,500 square meters SIS Gym (Meinanhe) and the 20,000 person capacity Shenzhen Bay Stadium. Initially, spectators could not attend competitions due to health and safety protocols, but shortly after Spring Break, we welcomed back parents, staff, and fellow students to cheer on their Geckos! Before Spring Break, all SIS competitions closed to spectators and live-streamed via our internal SIS Live site.

activities for students to participate in. At the primary level, ASAs are offered to Kindergarten students up to Grade 5 students. These activities are purposefully designed and selected to foster children’s self-esteem, independence, development, and curiosity. A mix of educational, fun, and kinesthetic activities are always on offer to ensure every student has access to a variety of different options throughout the school year. At the secondary level, ASAs are geared towards more of our Interscholastic Activities and planning/preparing for other events that happen during the school year. Throughout the entire school, ASAs are optional for participation, but encouraged as social interaction within the SIS community fosters deeper relationships amongst students and families alike.

Flex Time Activities
The FTA program was introduced this year in Middle School and High School as a way for students to have a low pressure environment to experience what it means to be a leader. Students have the option to propose different FTAs to lead amongst their peers. The idea is
