History
Juan de Grijalva
In Veracruz Grijalva he named the
language of land that opens the bay as
San Juan de Ulúa, for having arrived there
on the day of San Juan in June 1518.
Antonia Peregrino
Antonia Peregrino was born in the city of Veracruz in the
neighborhood of La Huaca. His father, Don Timoteo Peregrino
Reyes, played the guitar and worked as an opener of the boxes
that arrived at the port; He was also one of the founders of the
Trade and Ship Openers Guild of the Port of Veracruz.
Salvador Diaz Miron
Son of the journalist and politician who was governor of his state,
Manuel Díaz Mirón, followed in the footsteps of his father, but with
a strong inclination towards letters, his mother was Eufemia
Ibáñez. His father is credited with the famous stanza of cemeteries:
"Here eternity begins, and worldliness is dust"
